Features Of Affordable Housing
Affordable pricing: Houses that are offered in this scheme are basically affordable for every income group. Flats and plots that are offered under the scheme are basically low in price as compared to the market price. Haryana Housing Board plots range will start from 18 lakh to 50 lakh according to their size.
Target beneficiaries: In the affordable housing scheme government will target only the economically weak section (annual income less than 3 lakh), below poverty line (annual income less than 1.8 Lakh), low-income group and specific groups like defence personnel.
Allotment process is transparent: Most of the projects use a draw system for fair allocation, and registration of the property will be initiated through the online process.
Provide amenities: In affordable housing schemes, basic amenities like electricity, water, sewerage, roads and other facilities like parks, a gym, and a clubhouse are also provided.
Government subsidy: For the economically weak section, the BPL and low-income groups will get a subsidy of up to Rs 2 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Eligibility Criteria For Affordable Housing
The Haryana government has already set some eligibility criteria for every applicant who wants to apply under the affordable housing scheme in Haryana. These conditions are mentioned step by step below:
Only the permanent residents of India are eligible for this housing scheme.
At the time of application applicant age should be 18+.
Permanent resident of Haryana or working in the state for the last 6 months. This condition is only for EWS category applicants.
Applicant should not own any type of property in the urban areas of Delhi, Haryana or Chandigarh.
For BPL, family income is not more than Rs 1.8 Lakh per year.
Family should have a valid BPL card.
For the economically weak section (EWS), the annual income of the applicant is not more than Rs 3 lakh.
There is a requirement for an EWS certificate from the Saral portal.
